Everyone has a dream they pursue. You do, don't
you? I never
realized that I could be a serious collector...of anything...until I began
collecting Department56 villages over twenty-five years ago. When I
become interested in a collectible line, I become almost immersed in it;
it becomes a passion. Below are photos representing some of what I
collect. They include the whimsical glass ornaments of Mattarusky, the charming Snow Children of Elaine Roesle, Old World
Belsnickles from the Black Forest Collection, and the beautifully
detailed reproduction Santas of Pipka Ulviden and Peggy
Abrams.
In addition, I collect a number of other lines of tree ornaments,
including Vaillancourt Folk Art, Varsovia glass, and the blown glass
ornaments of Reed and Barton. Only recently, I have become extremely
interested in and enthusiastic about ornaments from Gabriela Christoff and
the Glitterazzi line produced by Joy to the World. Sadly, the
Gabriela Christoff company went out of business in its first year; I would
have enjoyed seeing the company develop its very attractive ornament line.
Each image below is meant to be a teaser, to pique your interest in other
pages of the site. Take a look, and I hope you'll see what it is
that makes me pursue these collections so
diligently.
