Mattarusky

I had been interested in the Mattarusky ornament line for some time, and I began collecting the ornaments, primarily Santas, in the fall of 2006. American artist Matt Litavsky combines his love of Christmas with childhood memories to create Mattarusky. The line includes Santas, snowmen (snow people?), buildings, Christmas trees, wrapped gifts, and other symbols of the season. I love the Santas, with their characteristic large eyes. I think these little guys have "spunk," a word I'm not sure Matt and Anne Litavsky would use in presenting their art to collectors. I want to add that the glittering is eye-popping on these pieces, an effect which the camera eye never quite adequately captures.
