In
2006, I began writing what I thought would be a short novel.
But, I laid the work aside rather quickly. A year later, I
returned to the project, but I reworked it in dramatic form as a
play. And, so Sis,
my first play, was born. In October, 2007, I wrote The
Child of the Winter Forest. And, in 2008,
working from a simple idea, I created Free
Fall. |

During
a party in 2008, the husband of a staff member told me about
Blurb.com, a web site where you literally could self-publish
books. Using Blurb.com, I have made the plays into book
form; they can be purchased online if you are so inclined. I
enjoy writing. It's a painful process, but a rewarding
one. I hope you'll take an interest in the plays. |

| After
their mother's unexpected death, three siblings confront
long-simmering and explosive personal and familial
circumstances. Two brothers, both deeply at odds over past
grievances with one another, attempt to decide the fate of
their older sister, whose life has been left in turmoil by
the loss of their mother. All three face life-changing
decisions each is unwilling to make. Despite its solemn
setting and theme, Sis
remains a testimony to the power of love and to the bonds
that hold families together. |

On
Christmas Eve, Christopher is discovered injured lying on
the floor of the Winter Forest and is saved by a kindly
woodcutter. With the aid of "the locals," he
begins a journey home and quickly discovers that the Winter
Forest is a place where children come to stay for a time,
one of whom is very special to him. Appropriate for adults
and children, The Child of the
Winter Forest is a message of forgiveness,
reconciliation and love set in what is always the season of
hope. |

| Henry
returns to the small town he grew up in after years of
absence. He is reunited with Emily and Talbot, his best
friends from his college days. We discover that Henry is
being followed by a mysterious boy, or is it just his
imagination? Each of the main trio of characters is on their
own personal free fall from life. Henry's presence becomes a
catalyst that stops the ground from racing up at each of
them.
Free
Fall is a love story for the boomer generation,
told partially in flashbacks to the 1970's. Its message that
life is worth living in spite of the setbacks that occur is
as enduring as the friendships around which the story is
told. |
